Job Summary: The Bookkeeper will manage the church’s financial records and day-to-day bookkeeping activities. This position will handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll, and maintaining accurate financial information. The ideal candidate will be trustworthy, organized, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting the mission and values of the church.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial and bookkeeping records.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Process payroll and maintain payroll records.
Reconcile bank and financial accounts.
Track income, expenses, deposits, and payments.
Prepare basic financial reports for church leadership.
Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information.
Work with pastors, staff, and church associates as needed.
Assist with budgets and other financial administrative duties.
Requirements:
Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred.
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic computer and accounting software skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Strong communication and time-management skills.
Must be a committed person who supports the church’s faith, mission, and values.
Ability to work respectfully with pastors, staff, volunteers, and church members.
