Local Transport Company / Dispatcher
Pay: Depending on Experience
Hours: Monday - Friday
Job Duties:
- Schedule, dispatch, and monitor semi-truck drivers for daily and long-haul routes
- Coordinate load assignments, pickup, and delivery times
- Communicate with drivers regarding routes, traffic conditions, weather, and delivery updates
- Track shipments using dispatch and GPS systems to ensure on-time performance
- Resolve delivery issues, delays, or emergencies in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain accurate records of loads, driver hours, mileage, and fuel usage
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and company policies
- Communicate with customers regarding delivery status and service concerns
- Work closely with operations, safety, and billing departments
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience as a truck dispatcher or in transportation/logistics preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and HOS requirements preferred
- Ability to remain calm and solution-focused in fast-paced environments
- Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS systems, and basic computer applications
