In order to be considered for this position, an employee must have been in their current position a minimum of one year, no active written warning and acceptable attendance with solid performance in the following areas: attitude, initiative, quality of work and the ability to diligently apply knowledge and skills. Selected candidate will remain in current grade during interim phase. Placement as an interim supervisor does not guarantee that it will lead to a full-time position as supervisor. Position must be available, and candidate must be selected and accept position. The duration of this position will be 12 – 24 months.
Qualifications
Must already have earned or is enrolled, actively pursuing, at minimum, an associate degree, with at least 3 to 4 courses recently completed.
Must have a minimum of 5 – 7 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul).
Successful candidate must possess proven leadership, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
Possess the ability create an atmosphere of teamwork.
Must be flexible and willing to support assignments on non-prime shifts (i.e., B & C shifts).
Must be self-motivated and have high-energy with the initiative to direct and lead.
Possess strong communication skills and proven ability to communicate with all levels of management.
Proven leadership using motivation and empowerment to instill cooperation and respect from his/her coworkers.
Responsibilities
Aid in the supervision of a group of employees, including several cells / areas.
Assist with the planning of overall activities, supervision, and coordinate work with other departments to meet delivery commitments.
Assist employees to ensure they are properly trained for their assignments and training records are updated.
Will be responsible for EH&S/CORE/Quality activities within the area.
Assist subordinates in solving challenges as well as leveraging opportunities for improvement.
Review recommendations of subordinates and approve or offer alternative solutions.
Perform a variety of supervisory and technical duties.
Exercise initiative and judgment and make decisions in planning and scheduling of personnel, as well as administrative duties in support of the Operations Manager.
Plan and carry out employee engagement action items (as applicable).
Take a lead in regard to coaching and mentoring employees to ensure their personal and professional successes are realized.
Must be willing to work extended hours.
Perform other duties as required.
