Job Summary: Local optical company is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Optical Technician to join their team. This position will provide a combination of customer service, phone support, data entry, and general office assistance. The ideal candidate should be professional, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with customers in a fast-paced office environment. Previous optical experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided to the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with questions and general inquiries
Greet customers and provide friendly, professional customer service
Assist customers with scheduling appointments and other basic office needs
Perform accurate data entry and update customer information in the computer system
Enter and maintain orders, records, and other necessary documentation
Assist customers with eyewear-related questions and direct them to the appropriate staff when needed
Help maintain organized customer files and office records
Assist with daily office tasks and general administrative duties
Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and other departments
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming work environment
Follow company procedures and maintain confidentiality of customer information
Learn and follow basic optical procedures and terminology
Complete additional duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
Previous customer service or office experience preferred
Optical experience is a plus but not required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable answering phones and speaking with customers
Basic computer skills and ability to perform data entry
Good attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to multitask and stay organized
Professional and friendly attitude
Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Must be willing to learn new procedures and computer systems
