Local Company / Residential Appraiser
Pay: $20/Hour
Hours: Monday - Friday 8-5
Job Duties:
• Locate assigned residential properties and perform field inspections and reinspection's.
• Measure homes, verify property details, and update property records.
• Classify residential properties for appraisal purposes.
• Research and verify home sales and other market data used for appraisals.
• Analyze information using Excel, spreadsheets, calculations, charts, and statistical data.
• Use approved mass appraisal models and district guidelines to determine market values.
• Review building permits for new construction, remodels, additions, and other improvements to determine how they affect property values.
• Enter, update, and maintain property information using appraisal software and Microsoft Office programs.
• Answer questions from property owners by phone, email, written correspondence, or in person.
• Meet with property owners during informal protest meetings to explain and negotiate property values.
• Prepare information and represent the appraisal district during Appraisal Review Board hearings when property values are appealed.
• Lead or assist with special research and appraisal projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed.
Applicant Requirements:
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and comfortable explaining technical information to the customers.
• Detail-oriented with strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to read maps, plats, and locate properties accurately.
• Comfortable using Excel, Microsoft Office, computers, and appraisal software.
• Willing to work toward becoming a Registered Professional Appraiser through the Texas licensing process.
• Committed to providing excellent customer service.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Own a reliable personal vehicle with current registration, inspection and liability insurance
• Willing to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
