Local Heating & Air Conditioning Company / Sheet Metal Mechanic
Pay: $25+ Depending on Experience
Hours: Monday - Friday 8-5 (When working overtime Monday-Thursday 10-hour shift & Friday 8-hour shift)
Job Duties:
- Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork, fittings, and components for HVAC systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Install hangers, supports, insulation, dampers, and accessories
- Seal joints using approved methods to ensure airtight systems
- Modify or repair existing duct systems as needed
- Coordinate with HVAC technicians, plumbers, and other trades on job sites
- Ensure all work meets local building codes, SMACNA standards, and company quality guidelines
- Maintain a clean, safe job site and follow all safety protocols
- Accurately document work performed and materials used
Job Requirements:
- Ability to read blueprints and use a tape measure accurately
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, brakes, shears, and other sheet metal equipment
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, airflow principles, and duct design basics
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
